Artist Scott J. Pate is in the process of buying a lot of art from Walt Disney World.
Pate bought the lot of work for $2.5 million in February, and the sale is being handled by a company called Art Buyers Alliance.
The sale includes art from the Walt Disney Museum, the Walt Deutschland Art Museum, Walt Disney Art Studios, Walt Deutsches Kunsthaus, the Walker Art Center and Disney’s Contemporary Art Museum.
Pates work will be displayed at the Disney Art Museum’s new Art of the Seas Pavilion in the Walt Dining Hall.PATE’s painting of the boat that sank the USS Arizona during World War II, “The Death and Return of Captain Cook,” is on display at the Walker-Pate Gallery, which will be open to the public.
Pates work has been on display since 2015.
The sale of Pate’s work is part of a broader sale of art by Disney’s Walt Disney Family of Companies that includes Disney Studios, Disneyland, Epcot, Disney California Adventure, and Epcot Resort.PATES work has previously been on exhibit at the Walt Walt Disney Company’s Art at Walt Disney Studios at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Hollywood.
